Nature in Art 19th Century Sketches January 28, 2020July 14, 2020 Naturalist Nate This is from an old sketch book of my great great grandmother’s sister, Aunt Lydia. Likely of 19th century rural Connecticut. I enjoy Aunt Lydia’s use of shading throughout her drawings. And I like the man there relaxing on the roadside. The coolest dog I have seen. Another from Aunt Lydia’s sketch book. There are many, and maybe I will share more later, but this will do for now.
